Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Tech Lead (with at least 4 years of experience) who combines architectural vision with hands-on technical leadership to shape the future of our EnergyTech platform. In this role, you will define scalable architectures, lead complex integrations with smart and IoT devices, and elevate engineering quality across the entire product.
You will work closely with our Configuration Manager, Product Owner, and a mixed team of internal and external engineers.
This position is for someone who combines technical depth, leadership, and end-to-end ownership, capable of influencing the technical direction of a high-impact digital product.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of backend, mobile, and IoT systems.
• Lead technical decision-making to ensure robustness, scalability, and performance.
• Oversee code quality through reviews, standards, and best practices.
• Design and validate integrations with IoT smart devices and third-party services.
• Partner with the Configuration Manager to guarantee reliable deployments and versioned delivery.
• Detect technical debt and lead long-term improvement initiatives.
• Improve system performance, observability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product management to assess trade-offs and feasibility.
• Mentor developers and promote technical excellence across the team.
• Ensure high standards in security, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.

Requirements

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience designing and leading large-scale software systems.

Core Technologies

• Strong experience designing software architecture for mobile + backend ecosystems.
• Expertise in microservices, event-driven systems, and API design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (ideally Google Cloud Platform).
• Solid background with backend stacks (Node.js, Python, Java) and mobile frameworks (React Native, native).

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Familiarity with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Experience in observability: metrics, logs, tracing.

Databases & Messaging

• SQL, NoSQL (Firestore, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Event/messaging systems: Pub/Sub, Kafka, or equivalent.

Testing & Quality

• Strong testing mindset (unit, integration, E2E).
• Ability to define and enforce team-wide engineering standards.

• Security best practices: IAM, authentication, authorization, and secret management.
